There comes those days where all a person can think about are how they want and crave to be different from who they are. Yet many people do not have the willpower to change to become who they want to be.
This task has become daunting to me once more. There are many things that delay you from the path you wish to be on. The key is to know the methods to overcome the things that may stray you.
The title of this post is a documentary which can be watched online (netflix if you have it).
This documentary helps to show exactly everything in this world which can be detrimental in our path to becoming our true selves.
- alcohol
- caffeine
- drugs (cocaine, meth, heroin, etc.)
- laziness
- gluttony
- SUGAR
- addiction
- power
- greed
- pride
- money
- fame
i could list so many things beyond this list present above, but since the list is different for every person that would be pointless to do.
The goal i have for myself (and for all those that wish to try), is to make a list of all the attributes to which i find admirable in other people (as well as in myself currently). tape that list up in a place that you see every single day and go through it and pick one item on the list to work hard on for that given day.
Then make another list, one of all the unfavorable attributes that you see in yourself or in those around you. hang this list next to the admirable traits list. Pick one thing every day to work on and better yourself from so that you might be able to work past the issue that is blocking you.
although this cannot be done easily, every person is capable of transforming themselves into who they want to be in this lifetime that they have.
Just remember this: your body is something that houses the person that you are. In order to allow that person to shine bright (as rihanna would say lol) then you have to treat this body of yours the best that you can treat it. That means that you need to feed your body the nutrients that it needs for optimal survival. you need to also keep your body exercised so that it can maintain optimal functioning.
If you want another documentary to check out which was also eye-opening try to watch Kumare. It will show you that you have everything it takes inside of yourself to achieve what you want to achieve and that all you have to do is have the will-power to do so.
good luck to all those out there trying to better themselves. our path might be difficult, but it will be truly rewarding in the long run. :)
